4 Ways to Stay in Control on Thanksgiving

1. Don't Go to Dinner Hungry
Spread your eating out over the whole day. Make sure you eat a reasonable breakfast (and lunch if you're eating late). This will make you feel much more in control at dinner time.

2. Drink a Glass of Water while waiting for dinner.
In addition to making you feel more full, it will also help your body to digest your food more efficiently.

3. Eat some salad first.
When you sit down, make it a point to eat a salad first. It will make you feel good to know you ate something fresh and it will make you feel better after the meal.

4. Enjoy your dinner company.
Remember Thanksgiving is about being thankful for the people and things we have in our lives. Use this time to converse and have fun with your family and friends. Focus more on the social part and less on the food.

How to Drink Enough Water

1. Get a Healthy Reusable Bottle
Buy yourself a non plastic bottle that holds at least a liter. Glass is a good choice, I use a Sigg bottle.

2. Think about your supply
It isn't enough to just focus on drinking water. Take some time and think about your supply of water. Specifically, are you going to buy big jugs of water, get a water purifier, or use a delivery service. Choose the one that works best for you.

3. Make it part of your routine
At night put your water bottle right next to your keys so that you remember it in the morning. If you drink coffee at work put your water bottle right next to your coffee mug.

4. Remind yourself
While you're drinking water take a moment to think about how it is helping your body to operate more efficiently and to feel better.
