A Cool Story

A daughter was putting the Christmas ham into the oven. As she prepared the ham the way her mother and grandmother before her, she stopped and asked her mother, "Why do we cut the ends off the ham before we stick it into the oven? Does it help the flavor? Does it cook faster? Why do we do this?" To which the mother answered that it was the way her mother had taught her and they had always done it that way. When Grandma entered the room the two women asked her, "Grandma, why do we cut the ends off the ham before putting it into the oven?" Grandma answered, "Because when I baked my first Christmas ham, we had a very small oven. The ham wouldn't fit."

4 1/2 Hidden
Exercises in Your Day:

1. Park Further Away
One of the easiest ways to add some exercise to your day is to park further away from the entrances of stores. Not only will you get more exercise, but you'll also be more relaxed from an easier time parking.

2. Take the stairs
Forget the elevator, use the stairs and you've just boosted your metabolism and stamina instantly. As it gets easier challenge yourself by going faster or climbing 2 steps at a time.

3. Do the Tree while waiting in line
Make use of your time spent waiting in line. The Tree is a Yoga posture. Basically, you stand very straight and you push your feet into the ground while you lift the top of your head towards the sky, the whole time taking deep relaxing breaths. Try it.

4. Isometrics Anywhere
Whether you are sitting at a desk, on a sofa, or in a car you can get a workout using Isometric exercises. Simply, isometric exercises are when you tense and hold muscles for any length of time. This is extremely useful for abdominal and back muscles. Try it right now and notice that you feel some more energy.

4 1/2. Hand Massages
Get in the habit of giving yourself hand massages. You'll instantly feel better as you notice the energy flow in your entire body improving.
